Lena Kapteina

I am passionate about bridging cutting-edge science and patient access, because the gap between the two is where I can make most difference by supporting the market access process for new and innovative medicines in Germany.

Career highlights

Lena joined the Kintiga team in June 2026 as a Medical Writer, bringing a strong scientific background in translational haematology and oncology. She holds an M.Sc. in Cancer Biology from the University of Heidelberg and a doctoral degree in Biochemistry from the Freie University of Berlin. During her PhD at the Charité, she coordinated and worked on an international research project focusing on stem cell regeneration and relapse after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Prior to her doctoral studies, Lena gained additional insights into translational oncology during a research stay at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and into market access during an industry internship. She complemented her doctoral research with an MBA fundamentals programme.

At Kintiga, Lena applies her analytical and scientific communication skills to support market access projects, striving to help innovative therapies reach patients, while continuing to develop her expertise in HTA and evidence-based decision-making.
